Study O Portable
Study O Portable is a London-based design practice who started creating accessories and other small objects. The studio was founded by Bernadette Deddens from the Netherlands and Tetsuo Mukai from Japan, who met while studying at ArtEz in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Preferring simple objects such as vessels, scarves, bangles and necklaces, S.O.P. produces commissioned studio pieces and are now working on editions of the ‘Fuzz’ table with Gallery FUMI London.
Interested in the designed environment and design’s relationship to the cultural landscape S.O.P’s practice maintains a speculative approach to the definition of designing, and is intrigued by different modes of thinking relating to things and objects in general.
Since 2009, Study O Portable has been presented internationally at various occasions and places such as Design Miami (Miami Beach, Basel), London Design Festival (London), Design Parade (Hyeres), Gallery FUMI (London, Porto Cervo), Caroline van Hoek (Brussels, Knokke), Phillips de Pury & Company (London, New York), Otrascosas de Villarrosas (Barcelona), Pavilion of Art and Design (Paris, London) among others.
